Program Funding: Post Vision Loss Rehabilitation Therapy
174 blind or partially sighted individuals living in Swift Current and area will receive rehabilitation therapy.
Canadian Mental Health Association
Program Funding: Meal Program Education, Life Skills and Social/Recreational Program
7,325 meals were served to its members. CMHA's meal program is offered 5 days a week, 3 nutritional meals each day.
Southwest Newcomer Welcome Centre
2018 Program Funding: Family Literacy Program, Childminding Program
15+ parents of young families have been able to access the English Language Training by offering childcare for the families while they attend classes.
Program Funding: Community Inclusion Program
1,600 volunteer hours were logged by the participants at Sask Abilities with various local organizations. The program builds workplace, life and social skills to enhance employ-ability of people with varying abilities.
Swift Current Community Youth Initiative (The Center)
Program Funding: Hot Meal Program for Youth
30+ youth grades 6 - 12 attend the Wednesday after-school meal program offered twice a week.
Southwest Crisis Services
Program Funding: Community Outreach Program
277 individuals have accessed the outreach services through Southwest Crisis Services. They've held 1,242 face-to-face support sessions, over 1,300 phone session, and delivered 10 violence prevention education presentations. Southwest Crisis Services is one of our nine funded community partners and United Way specifically invests in their Outreach Services.
Program Funding: Vocational Transportation Program and Additional Supports Program
Clients benefit directly by having access to transportation during hours when public transportation is not available. Additional Supports provides access to one-on-one client care as needed.
United Way Active Play
Program Funding: After School Program
Over 1,064 children have participated in the free Active Play Program; giving kids a space to be physically active and learn about healthy choices around exercise, nutrition and wellness.
